Video Vinyl was a weekly televised music video show distributed nationally across the PBS Public Television Network.

Video Vinyl provides viewers with a diverse selection of exceptional music content, and to offer a vital alternative to the mediocrity presented by existing music television outlets. We do this by showcasing predominantly independent artists from primarily independent labels, as well as highlighting some of the less-saturated material from the majors. The labels we most heavily represent include Touch & Go, Matador, Domino, Astralwerks, Vice, Epitaph, Sub Pop, Warp, Mute, Stones Throw, Merge, Vagrant, Thrill Jockey, Victory, Rounder, Def Jux, Arts & Crafts, Kemado, Minty Fresh, Kranky, Secretly Canadian, Saddle Creek & 4AD.

Video Vinyl celebrates the music videos as a unique visual art form unto itself by uncovering the latest in cutting-edge animation and filmmaking. To that end, we supplement each weekly six-pack of music videos with extensively researched background on the artists, labels, directors and styles––adding an informed cultural context to what is seen and heard. Since our core theme is diversity, every episode features a wide array of musical genres, styles of video, and a broad representation of people, cultures, and countries.
