OVERVIEW
VIDEO PRODUCTION, INSTALLATION, EXHIBITION

Acclaimed playwright, director and artist Robert Wilson creates Perchance to Dream, an exhibition transforming half a century of iconic Italian design into objects of desire through a collaboration with Roberto Bolle, lead dancer for La Scala ballet and American Ballet Theater. A series of thirty-one Video Portraits spread throughout seven rooms create a strikingly contemporary and theatrical landscape against a backdrop presenting the history and beauty of Italian design. Commissioned by Cosmit and Federlegno-Arredo, this exhibition marks the celebration of Italian design as part of I Saloni Milano’s 50th Anniversary.

This is the first time that Wilson’s Video Portraits have been connected to the architecture of a space – a remarkable evolution in Wilson’s artistic language. Wilson’s preoccupation with the interaction between form and space is no surprise for fans who have come to expect his obsession with control of the body, beauty of movement and power of objects.
